Maintenance and precautions of the unit:
- Routine maintenance of the generator set
Before using the generator, the appropriate brand of gasoline and engine oil should be selected according to the use environment and conditions. Whether the selection is appropriate or not has a great impact on the performance, reliability and service life of the engine.
- Two-stroke and four-stroke gasoline engines generally use gasoline with a brand of 90 or above.
When using gasoline, you should pay attention to:
In hot summer and high-altitude mountainous areas, due to high temperature and low air pressure, air blockage is easy to occur, so the engine heat dissipation is strengthened to insulate the oil pipe.
Do not use leaded gasoline for cleaning oil solvent oil to prevent ethyl lead poisoning.
Do not use gasoline that has been stored for a long time and has deteriorated, otherwise it will cause serious gelling and carbon deposition.
The flash point of gasoline is very low, it is flammable, explosive, and easy to generate static electricity. It must be used in accordance with regulations and safe measures for storing gasoline.
- Selection of lubricating oil
The main function of lubricating oil is to lubricate the moving parts of the gasoline engine, cool and dissipate the heat of the moving parts, clean them, and prevent rust. The quality of engine oil and whether it is used correctly not only affect the performance and service life of the gasoline engine, but also the service life of the engine oil. Therefore, the appropriate brand of engine oil should be selected according to the ambient temperature of the gasoline engine. At the lowest rated ambient temperature, the engine oil should have good fluidity and at the highest temperature, it should have appropriate kinematic viscosity. This is especially important for air-cooled gasoline engines.
- Environmental conditions for the use of gasoline generator sets
Gasoline generator sets must operate stably and reliably under certain environmental conditions. The specific environmental conditions for use should meet the following requirements;
- The ambient temperature is -20~40°C.
- The relative humidity of the air at 25°C is less than 95%.
- The altitude is less than 1000m. When the altitude exceeds 1000m and is less than 4000m, the output power should be reduced according to the internal combustion engine power correction table.
- There is no mold in the surrounding environment.
Impact of environmental conditions
- Impact of high temperature and high humidity environment.
(1) Affect the reliability and service life of the engine.
High temperature and high humidity environment is very conducive to the growth of mold, which can cause engine products to mold and metal parts to rust, affecting the reliability of the unit and shortening its service life.
(2) Impact on engine performance indicators.
High temperature and high humidity environment slows down the heat dissipation inside the engine, increases the engine temperature, causes the engine output power to decrease and causes the insulation of the corresponding accessories to age, which will greatly reduce the technical performance indicators of the engine. Mold can damage and fall off the insulating paint film of electrical equipment, reduce the insulation performance, and cause the engine performance to deteriorate.
(3) Impact on engine safety
High temperature and high pressure cause parts to rust and the insulation level to decrease, which not only affects the safety of gasoline, but also seriously threatens personal safety.
- Impact of high altitude and low pressure environment
When a gasoline engine is working under environmental conditions below 1000m above sea level, it can output rated power. When the altitude increases by 1000m, due to the decrease in air density, the decrease in atmospheric pressure, the poor atomization of gasoline and air, and the poor combustion, its output power will decrease by 11.5%~12.2%. Therefore, when operating at an altitude of 1000m to 4000m, the output power of the gasoline engine should be reduced according to the correction value of the gasoline engine. Gasoline engines usually used in high-altitude areas use gasoline engines with larger power than the used power as the power source, so that they have a larger power reserve.
- Influence of low temperature environment
When the gasoline engine is used under the condition of ambient temperature below -20°C, the lubricating oil and fuel become thicker and stickier, the fuel gasification is not sufficient, and ignition is difficult, causing the gasoline engine to start. In order to ensure that the unit can be successfully started within 20 seconds, low-temperature starting measures should be taken for the engine, such as heating the lubricating oil.
III. Starting and running of gasoline generator sets
- Check whether there is fuel in the fuel tank. If there is no fuel, add it according to the specified brand.
- Check the lubricating oil level in the crankcase and add the lubricating oil brand specified in the manual according to the season of use.
- Check whether the engine oil circuit is unobstructed and whether the ignition system is working normally; if there is any abnormality, it should be adjusted and eliminated in time.
- Put the fuel switch in the "ON" position and open the throttle. When starting a cold engine, close the carburetor choke (do not close the choke when restarting a hot engine that has been shut down for a short time; in case too much fuel makes it difficult to start); turn down the carburetor throttle appropriately; set the gasoline engine switch to the "ON" position.
- Manual starting system starting method: Fix the unit with your left hand, pull the starter wheel handle with your right hand, and slightly pull the pull rope. When you feel that the starter claw has been rotated out and contacts the starter disk and rotates coaxially, use force to pull the starter wheel handle in a smooth and fast horizontal direction for several times until the unit starts.
- Electric starting system: Press the electric start button with your right hand, and control the throttle with your left hand. The continuous working time of the starter motor should not exceed 10 seconds. If the start fails once, it should be started again after two minutes. If the start fails three times in a row, the cause should be checked.
- After the unit is started, let the starting handle automatically retract the starting disk with the help of the rebound starter. It is not allowed to pull the starting wheel when the gasoline engine is working to prevent damage to the starting mechanism. After the gasoline engine is started, gradually open the air door until it is fully opened, adjust the throttle, and let the gasoline engine run at a low speed for 2~3 minutes so that the lubricating oil can be evenly distributed on the friction surfaces.
- During the operation of the unit, the air filter must be used; it is not allowed to tamper with the various parts of the machine, and it is not allowed to unscrew the oil dipstick to check the oil level and add fuel during operation to prevent accidents.
- The unit must be used under well-ventilated conditions to prevent exhaust gas emissions. Poor ventilation will cause its working conditions to deteriorate and the operator will be poisoned by exhaust gas.
- When the unit needs to stop working, first cut off the load power supply and let the engine run under no-load conditions for about 1~2 minutes, turn off the fuel switch, set the ignition switch to the "off" position, and stop the gasoline engine.
Stopping with load is not allowed, otherwise it will cause heat concentration and damage the gasoline engine. When the gasoline engine has not cooled down shortly after shutdown, remember not to touch the hot gasoline engine and muffler with your hands to prevent burns; the hot engine cannot be packed into the box immediately, and must be completely cooled down before storage to prevent residual heat from causing fire; it is not allowed to shut down the damper; avoid excessive oil, which will make it difficult to restart, or residual oil will accumulate and form scale and glue to block the oil circuit.
IV. Storage and Storage
When the generator set is not used for a long time, it needs to be sealed. The method is as follows:
- Clean the outside, drain the lubricating oil and clean the crankcase, and then apply the heated lubricating oil to the crankcase.
- Start the unit, run it empty for 2~3 minutes, and stop to drain the lubricating oil.
- Drain the fuel from the fuel tank, and then drain the fuel from the gasoline filter and carburetor.
- Remove the spark plug, inject 10ml of lubricating oil, and then turn the crankshaft 3~5 times until it feels heavy and stop pulling.
- Apply industrial vaseline on the uncoated metal surface, wrap it with paraffin paper and then cover it with cloth on the surface of the gasoline engine.
- Wrap the exhaust port with oil paper and rope (to prevent foreign objects and moisture from entering).
The battery of the electric starter motor should be removed and charged. Store in a dry place and charge once a month. Do not place the battery in an overheated or overcold place (below 0 or above 30°C).
